Goat Sales & Reservation Policy

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a Nigerian Dwarf goat from Chick w/ a Whistle Farms! Please review the following guidelines before making a purchase.

1. Purchasing & Deposit

  • Goat kids will be available for pickup between 8-12 weeks of age.
  • Registration: Doelings and bucklings will be registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) unless otherwise requested at the time of purchase.
  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the purchase price is required to hold a goat. The remaining balance is due at pickup. Deposits are only refundable if the goat becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Goats are social animals and will not be sold as a single unless the buyer has additional goats in their herd.

2. Health & Care Provided Before Pickup

Each goat will receive the following care prior to leaving our farm:

  • Disbudding (unless otherwise arranged)
  • CDT vaccinations at 3, 5, and 8 weeks
  • Deworming at 3, 6, and 9 weeks

3. Transportation & Pickup

  • Goats must be picked up on the agreed-upon date unless prior arrangements are made.
  • If a buyer fails to pick up the goat within 7 days of the scheduled pickup date, and no alternative arrangements have been made, the goat will be relisted for sale, and the deposit will be forfeited.
  • Buyers are responsible for transportation unless otherwise arranged prior to pick up date. Please bring a secure crate or appropriate setup for safe travel.

4. Breeding & Genetic Guarantees

  • All goats are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale. However, once the goat leaves our farm, we can no longer extend any health guarantee, as we cannot control environmental factors, stress, or care after pickup.
  • While we strive to produce high-quality goats, we cannot guarantee future milk production, fertility, or show quality.
  • Wethers (castrated males) are sold as pets only and should not be used for breeding.

5. Buyer Responsibility

  • The buyer is responsible for continued proper care, including nutrition, shelter, and veterinary needs. We strongly encourage new owners to research proper goat care before purchasing.
  • Goats are herd animals and require companionship—a single goat may become stressed, sick, or develop behavioral issues.

We appreciate your commitment to providing a safe and loving home for your new goat. If you have any questions or need additional information, feel free to reach out!
