A Family of Intruders So I have been finding some leftovers of an animal that I did not recognize. Each time all my animals were all looking great but I was seeing poop that was about the size of a dog. . . and we don’t have a dog. As I would check theContinue reading “Intruder Alert and other farm funs.”

Weekend Away & Getting the Pigs Settled In.
Minnesota North Shore One of my true loves is time up on the Lake Superior North Shore. There is little that compares to the scenery and uniqueness of the region. Every resort and hotel could be booked up and you could still feel like you have the trails to yourself. I have tried going toContinue reading “Weekend Away & Getting the Pigs Settled In.”
Fall Babies
It has probably only been a few weeks since we brought our last batch of pigs into the butcher but Dustin was already talking about the next batch. We wanted to do some updating on our fencing before we ordered the next batch, so I was not in any huge hurry. Well, the itch toContinue reading “Fall Babies”
Predator War
As the school year came to an end, there has been quite a bit of action around the farm. First, I will announce that I finally have my logo finished and am so excited to see the finished result. The other big activity around the farm is lately the continued problem of predators eating myContinue reading “Predator War”
Spring is Here
It is amazing how precious time is in the spring. Weeks have gone by and it only feels like a couple of days. Chicks The little chicks are getting larger and more independent each day. December Snow
December has come to an end and as we prepare for butchering day for our 3 pigs, I have really enjoyed the pigs around the farm and the journey we have taken. Over the last couple of weeks we have learned how much the pigs enjoy free ranging. With snow on the ground you canContinue reading “December Snow”
Jack Frost has arrived
We have been blessed with a mild winter this December, however that luck ran out this week. Low temperatures and high winds have been dropping our temperatures. The worst is the wind. The chickens have been doing well in the barn but have no interest for snow or going outside. I have still been gettingContinue reading “Jack Frost has arrived”
We have enjoyed some unseasonably warm weather lately for November so we took advantage and did a barn clean out. What we were chuckling about was the goats relaxing and enjoying the view while we were doing all the labor. It is also nice to use all this old hay for the pigs. TheContinue reading
